How We Do It
The rotomolding process requires three components: a mold, a molding machine & plastic resin.

Our molding machines consist of a number of different stations. At each station, we continue to rotate the mold horizontally and verticallly to ensure even coverage and exact thicknesses.

Rotomolding Stations

The process works like this:

1. Design the mold. During the design process, we determine the exact shape, size and thicknesses of the finished piece. We also determine any aesthetic needs, such as color and imprints. Most finishing touches, like logos, can be part of the rotomolding process and become part of the piece, making them more durable than decals.
2. Manufacture the mold. We build the mold on-site. Because molds for rotomolding do not require an inner core like injection molding, they are typically more economical to build. They are also easier to maintain and last longer since they do not undergo the high stress of other molding techniques.
3. Load the mold with the appropriate type and color of plastic resin. We pre-measure the resin to make sure we achieve the exact thickness required.
4. Move the mold into the oven. The heat melts the plastic resin, and the resin begins to coat the mold smoothly. The mold rotates both vertically and horizontally, ensuring an even coat along every surface.
5. Cool the mold. During the cooling process, we carefully control the process through a variety of techniques to assure all tolerances and critical characteristics are met.
6. Release the product. Once the mold is cooled, we open the mold and remove the new product.
7. Finish the piece. We carefully inspect each piece, and perform the required finishing operation to produce the finished product.
8. Package and ship the product. We wrap, box and assure the product arrives at our customer in top condition.
